Welcome to Wanderful Wednesday! Don’t forget to link up a wanderful travel related post down below! 😀
“Travel is like love, mostly because it’s a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed. That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end.”— Pico Iyer
Travel. Love. I love to travel. I travel to love.
I’ve been feeling a little lonely and a bit well, loveless lately. That damn Northern Hemisphere summer envy and rainy seasonal depression hitting again.
So, for a little pick me up and to satisfy my (rare) need for things sappy, mushy and gushy lately, I’ve decided to turn to some real-life fairytale love stories. If you were wondering, for me that means- travel blogging couples! And, well, I figured I’d share, because, who couldn’t use a little more love in their lives!
In my eyes, those who have found a way to combine two of their deepest passions, pursuing both love and their desire to see the world, are the real love inspirations out there! They’re living the life, continent hopping with their loved one by their side. After all, a couple that can survive traveling together can surely weather any storm!
These jet-setting duos give me hope that it is possible to balance both travel and love– proving it’s not necessary to sacrifice one for the other!
Yeah, that’s right people, don’t give up! Real life happy endings do exist and these guys are a testament to that!
My 5 Favorite Travel Love Stories:
Two drifters
I recently met Amy and Nathan, known in the blogging world as the Two Drifters, through the wonderful world of Instagram and they’ve quickly become one of my favorite traveling couples to follow! These two newlywed lovebirds seriously feed my romantic wanderlust, documenting all of their adventures as they drift around this world, hand-in-hand.
I’ve followed along (like a giddy little girl) as they pursue their whimsical romance- tying the knot in the magical city of Asheville, and later documenting their enchanting Canadian honeymoon. They’re both creative, sensitive souls, feeling intensely and deeply for the beauty of the world around them. Taking on this world as partners, they continue to explore, adventure and learn, fully supporting each other all the way and sticking to their motto- “Travel farther, love better.”
From Amy:
“You know when you watch a great new TV show or discover a fascinating fact? The first thing you want to do is find someone to share it with. Traveling as a couple is like doing that a million times and in countless little ways. We love seeing and appreciating the same gorgeous sights. We love delving into the history of a region, or sampling the local cuisine and talking about how delicious it is. Sharing all these experiences together—both the good and even the bad—make traveling as a couple so meaningful.”

Our Travel Passport
The Looneys, Ryan & Samantha of Our Travel Passport, fell in love writing to each other from across the globe! When their individual paths separated them early in their relationship, they had no choice but to stay in touch by means of handwritten letters. For three whole years they communicated this way, building a strong base to their now impenetrable relationship.
After considerable time apart, exploring on their own, but keeping in contact all the way, they realized they were meant to experience this world as one. After all, who could possibly make a better travel companion than your soul mate? Yeah I know .. talk about a fairytale ending.
These easily loveable newlyweds are now lucky enough to share a location as well as an intense love for life, travel and each other. Their flexible schedules allow them to pack up and disappear often, leaving everything else behind and focusing fully on their adventures together.

Two Bad Tourists
I came into contact with Auston and David of Two Bad Tourists during my time living in Madrid, which is their current home base. These two are exactly what their name suggests- two pretty bad-ass travelers.
Auston and David are a young vagabonding gay couple, completely changing the face of gay travel and covering all of their adventures along the way! They’re on a mission to expose the world’s top LBGT travel hot spots and having an amazing time along the way! If you haven’t yet, be sure to check these two out, they’re a ton of fun!

Don’t Forget to Move
Christine and Jules grew up on opposite sides of the globe, but were fortunate enough to meet when their paths crossed while working at a nonprofit disaster relief in Peru. After their time spent in Peru, they both had set plans to go their separate ways- Jules with a flight booked to Europe and Christine with a return ticket home. But after only 6 months, they couldn’t bare the thought of their joint journey coming to an end, so they cancelled their plans and made new ones to continue their adventure together.
Now, here they are in 2016 and still going strong, traveling together all day everyday for four years and counting! They continue to circle the earth side by side, staying true to their shared passion and commitment to nonprofits and always looking for ways to help with community development initiatives. They are adventurous, always up for a challenge and continuously looking to grow both individually and as one. Quite the power couple if you ask me….
From Jules:
“Everything about a traveling relationship is accelerated. You come together quickly, you find issues quickly, but if you’re committed to making it work, you get over those issues quickly. You learn to balance your time together and to work through any obstacles you might have. It’s also brought us closer together because we’ve grown as a team. Travel romances come and go, we’ve both had our experiences with that, but this time we were determined to make it work.”

WanderluStyle
You may remember Maryrose and Reid of Wanderlustyle from their quick introduction in my April Meet the Sponsors post, but I loved their story so much that here they are again! These two are high school sweethearts who just recently got engaged and are based in the Pacific paradise of Hawaii. On their blog they reveal how to experience the Hawaiian islands like a local and also showcase their adventurous travels around other parts of their world. Their pictures on Instagram and videos on their Youtube Channel are seriously wanderlust inducing.
Maryrose and Reid both grew up among wander-lusting families, engraining the urge to get out and go deep within them from a young age. They feel very blessed to have found each other, now having someone special to share all the wondrous moments and excitement that comes along with their travels. They’re one dynamic duo- skydiving, zipling and parasailing their way around the world. It also helps that they’re absolutely adorable together!

Bonus Couple:
Jay Alvarrez & Alexis Ren
Watching Jay Alvarrez’s sensational videos of him and his beautiful girlfriend Alexis Ren is one of my guilty pleasures. Looking through photos of these two on their wild whirlwind adventures may make me a little sick to my stomach, but I’m also not so secretly obsessed with them. How could you not be? They are young, gorgeous, and live a luxurious carefree life that anyone would envy. They’ve become an online icon of “Relationship Goals” and although I wouldn’t suggest you compare your own life or relationships to theirs [let’s face it, they’re not real], it can’t hurt to use them as a way to feed your already growing wanderlust! If this video isn’t enough to do just that … then I don’t know what is …
What can I say? I’m a sucker for a good love story….. OR six …..

Happy Hopping Friends! 😀
Ahh – these stories have been a lovely way to start my day 🙂 I travelled solo for a long time, which was the best experience and gave me so much more confidence. When I returned, I met my love who has become the best travel partner and adventure buddy. Don’t think I could have met such a great person without the fantastic solo experience first though 🙂
It’s so important to learn how to travel and live on our own before committing to someone else! It helps though when you find someone who makes the best travel partner! Happy that you found that and I wish you all the happiness in the world traveling together 😀

I’m always so impressed with couples who travel extensively together! It’s definitely not the easiest thing to do, but it is probably so awesome to be able to share those amazing experiences with your significant other, and be able to look back and know you made memories all over the globe. now i’m getting sappy!!! lol
Ahaha right! If you can get through a lengthy trip with your partner, you know it’s meant to be!! 😀
