Hello hello and happy Wanderful Wednesday friends! I’m officially back and writing from Santiago, Chile! [Yes, yes I know. I owe you all an explanation, but that’s another story for another day.] I haven’t had a chance to write down all of my ideas/thoughts/plans yet, so instead I’m going to continue checking off posts from my long list of ideas covering my January travels in Southern Chile.
Have I mentioned lately that I’m head over heels for Madrid….? No!? Well let me tell you again ….. Madrid is one seriously beautiful city, inside and out. And on my recent trip a few weeks ago, I couldn’t wait to revisit some of my favorite photo spots to capture and share some of my favorite city’s beauty. As you probably already know, I’m a bit
You guys ….. I’m moving back to Chile today ……..!?!@!#!$! I can’t believe that the day has already come! What a whirlwind life has (once again) been. While I’ve been having a blast running around and visiting all my friends and family at home, I have to admit that I’m so excited to get back, stay put for a bit and start a normal routine. Weirdly,
A few months ago, on my 25th birthday, bedridden with a high fever and bad case of strep, feeling semi-sorry for myself, I made an impulse buy…. $400 round trip tickets to Madrid… HOW COULD I RESIST?!?! Madrid is my soul city. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s already been almost 2 years since I’ve been to Madrid and I couldn’t be more excited to roam my favorite city
In honor of my upcoming trip to Madrid (!!!!!) next week, today I’m going to be throwing it back to my happy-days in Spain! In Spanish culture, Sunday is a day purely for relaxing, recuperating from the week before and catching up with family and friends- a tradition that doesn’t take very long to get used to. Sleeping in and rising late on Sundays is typical
So, you’ve decided to take on Chile’s vicious snowy beast, Villarrica Volcano? Well, good for you! It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. I’m sure you’ve done your research and maybe even already selected a tour agency, but there are a few things you really should know before you go! For starters, if you didn’t know already, “Volcán Villarrica” or Volcano Villarrica is one of
While still not quite as popular as the Patagonia region way in the south of Chile, other southern Chilean cities like Pucón, Valdivia and Puerto Varas and the island of Chiloe, are becoming more and more known to travelers around the world. These desirable destinations are pretty remote and may not be the easiest to get to, but they’re definitely worth the effort. With picturesque lakes, snow-capped
Another week, another glacier! 😛 This week though, I won’t be covering a glacier down near the infamous ice fields of Patagonia, but rather one right outside of my beloved Santiago! The hike to Glacier Colgante El Morado, also known as the “Hidden Glacier,” in Cajón del Maipo has definitely been one of my favorites to date! It’s not too far outside of metropolitan Santiago, but
The Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentine Patagonia near El Calafate is hands down one of most incredible things I’ve ever seen. Before arriving, I had seen many pictures of the massive ice formation and had even heard of its magnificence, but none of it prepared me. Nothing but seeing this glacier for myself, up close and personal did it any justice. It’s downright shocking to see up close.
I have this thing with skylines. Yes, I’ve always had a love for city skylines. How could I not having grown up just two short hours from the world’s most famed skyline in New York? The thing is, Santiago’s skyline is unlike any other I’ve seen. This past year in Santiago I was extremely lucky to live in an apartment with an incredible view. Our
