Happy Wanderful Wednesday my loves! This week we have a special treat! I’m in the process of trying to beef up some of my blog series, including Instagram Guides, Foodie Guides, Support Local Posts and One Day In Guides (cough, cough, email me if you’re interested!!), so today I’m taking a break and handing the mic over to Marie! She is going to be talking about Sydney and where to eat in this glorious city if you’ve forgotten to make plans or reservations!
Marie is a lifestyle blogger who loves unusual trips, gadgets and creative ideas. On her travels, she likes to read poetry and prose and to surf the Internet. Her favorite writer is Tracy Chevalier and she always carries one of her books in her bag. Most of her free time at home she spends walking her Labrador Retriever named Max. She is an avid lover of photography who loves to talk about her experiences. You can find Marie on Facebook or follow her on Twitter and Pinterest.
Here’s Marie!
Sydney is one of the most culturally diverse places in the world. This means that, for every food aficionado, it is a food playground that can turn each outing into an adventure. The choice of various restaurants is so great that you couldn’t check out all of them in a lifetime, even if you had all the time in the world. Therefore, for the sake of helping you find a place to start, here’s where you can wine and dine in Sydney if you haven’t made plans.

Grace Cafe is a Perfect Morning Spot
If you want to kick off your day with a hearty breakfast, then Grace Cafe is a place for you. The restaurant is placed under the eponymous hotel. The address is 77 York Street (just at the corner of King St.) and it offers a modern Australian cuisine that has something for everyone.

You can kick off your day with a cup of joe and a nutritious meal that includes various omelets with price tags that dance around $15. If you are up for something lighter, muesli and fruit salads start off at $7!
Queue up for a Delicious Meal
Sydney is a true metropolis, enormous and hectic. Naturally, there are many hot places around town that have people queuing up hours on end just to get that delicious meal. You could go so far and call queuing a subculture of sorts here in Sydney. You might not need a reservation, but you’ll need to prepare for a long haul if you want to have your turn. The question is – do you think it’s worth it?

People waiting in front of Mamak seem to think so. It’s an extremely popular restaurant that has Asian and Malaysian dishes, and all-around vegetarian-friendly choices in the menu. The word on the street is – everything is delicious there, so if you get a chance, visit it at 15 Goulburn Street.
While we are on the Topic of Asian Food
Bangkok Bites lies at the heart of Bondi Beach. Just get to the corner of Glenayr Ave and Roscoe St. and continue going down Glenayr until you hit O’Brien St. Follow the smells from there. Their menu is packed with essential Bangkok street food.

The dishes are completely insane, from papaya salad served in a “dish” made of carved-out cabbage, to Bangkok pears, a curious meal served in seashells, and tom yum prawns. If you are feeling particularly adventurous with your food tonight, this is a perfect spot for you, and if that isn’t enough, there are a lot of restaurants around aside from Bangkok Bites for your last minute dinner decisions.
Make a stop at the Old Clare Hotel
The Old Clare Hotel makes you feel as if you are a part of an exclusive club. It’s a boutique hotel that consists of two heritage-listed buildings, the Clare Hotel pub and the Carlton & United Breweries Administration Building. It has a menu that will spoil you for choice and, if you are a guest of the hotel, you’ll have an opportunity to visit one of the hottest open rooftop pool bars in Sydney.

If you’re just looking for a bar that’s open on a Sundays and serves good food – you are welcome in their lobby bar. They have an amazing variety of meals, from high-end chow to pizza, which you can wash down with craft beer, but this one is about location as much as it is about food. It’s a luxurious and chic place. Any further description won’t do it justice. You really have to see it yourself.
There’s so much to enjoy in Sydney once you’re out on the town. The culinary delights wait for you around every corner and ethnic and cultural differences bring an incredible variety to the plate. Most of the restaurants around are open for impromptu visits, so what are you waiting for? Take your pick and dive into this unexplored ocean of tastes!
Thanks Marie! You’ve surely got me drooling!

Mmmm all of this food looks delicious! Kind of not what I expected of Oz, I guess bc I’ve tasted alligator and kangaroo. haha How very naive of me! #WanderfulWednesday
Hee hee! I live in Sydney and haven’t been to any of those places! I will have to investigate! My favourite Asian is dumplings at Chefs Gallery or New Shanghai and Bill’s is seriously good for breakfast. And if you’re into gelato, a visit to Messina is a must!
lots of great food!
Yum yummmm! These all look delicious!!
Hmmmm, Sydney is a city full of great eats! I have heard the Asian food in there is to die for. I am really contemplating visiting next year (for my 10 year wedding anniversary). #wanderfulwednesday
So many good places to eat in Sydney!
Ooh this is a great list! One of my oldest and best friends just found out she is moving to Australia so this list will (hopefully – if i find a good deal) come in handy in the next couple years for me!!
I like lots of selection and different ethnic foods. Mamak or Bangkok Bites would be my pick.
I can imagine how Sydney has the best Asian food! I’m not a fan of it so much but my boyfriend would love eating his way through whatever Asian cuisine he could find in Sydney 😉
Mmm everything looks delicious! I wish I had this guide when I studied abroad and visited Sydney!!
Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams
Always keen to hear of new places to eat in my city. I am a big fan of the amazing, fresh and tasty Vietnamese food you can get so easily here. We’ve got a great restaurant down the road from us and I insist on taking all our visitors there!
