2020 was a challenging year for all of us, to say the least, and unfortunately, it seems as though these challenges will continue for the foreseeable future.
Still, with approved vaccines out on the market and countries loosening travel restrictions, many people are ready and looking forward to blowing off some steam by making the most of their 2021 vacations.
Perhaps you want to plan a trip with your family, looking to arrive in a family-friendly location with a diverse variety of activities for all ages. Or maybe you’re an adventure traveler eagerly searching for your next site to sweat it out on a hiking trail with fantastic scenery. In no particular order, today I present you with highly desirable warm destinations that you can visit while on vacation in 2021.
Of course, I’m a big advocate that if you decide to travel to a country that has begun to allow tourists to enter, that you respect the local health and safety guidelines.
1. Costa Rica
If you’re interested in escaping to an idyllic paradise, prime for relaxation, in a country where warm weather is present all year round, look no further than Costa Rica. In this coastal Central American country, nature is well-preserved, the people are very welcoming to tourists, and plane ticket prices are accessible for most looking for an island getaway.
If you’re looking for an eco-friendly destination, Costa Rica has a bit of anything you could imagine! Whether you’re looking to explore the rainforests and mountains, venture down into the mysterious valleys or relax along the many sandy shores, Costa Rica is sure to surprise you!
2. Santa Barbara, CA and Navarre Beach, FL
If you’re a US citizen looking to enjoy a sunny sandy shore or you’re a foreigner looking for a city with strong cultural and tourist attractions, an excellent option for your summer vacation are these two amazing cities located on the two opposite coasts.
In Santa Barbara surfers will love to swim and enjoy the Pacific Ocean waves during the day, while at night partake in the incredible (hopefully socially-distant) nightlife that ahowcases music performances, art presentations, theatre performances, and more.

This is thanks to the area’s mild weather during winter and hot temperatures during the peak of summer. I highly recommend getting off-the-beaten-path and enjoying the smaller, more secluded beaches and hidden fishing villages or the mysterious rainforests for adventurous travelers. Also local Mexican cuisine is an absolute favorite and must-try.
4. São Paulo, Brazil
The country of samba and soccer also offers warm temperatures all year round if you’re looking for an exotic destination in Latin America.
Located in one of the most temperate areas in Brazil, São Paulo contains an attractive variety of cultural activities and nightlife that many newcomers appreciate. The immense variety of touristic attractions around the city and the locals’ welcoming attitude are known to blown tourists away, regardless of any language barrier. And in case you’re feeling nostalgic about visiting the beach, you can always fly to Rio de Janeiro and spend some well-deserved days relaxing oceanside.
5. San Juan, Puerto Rico
Even after the disaster left by Hurricane Maria in 2017, Puerto Rico still stands strong as one of the most attractive places to visit if you’re longing for some hot weather and beautiful, tropical landscapes.
With an incredible combination of relaxing beach life, extreme sports, historical sites, and active nightlife, there is so much to discover on this magical island in the middle of the Caribbean. I hope I’m not the only one who’s looking for a warm place to spend their next holiday season. Although I’ve been sticking to wanderlusting for now, I hope that the world of travel will start to look up this year, once things are safe.
