Feeling ambitious last Saturday I head out with my friend Julie for a brisk morning trot. Well, what Julie considered to be a trot left me with aching legs for days …..

Still, even as my legs were close to giving out on our return to the hostel, I knew this was the highlight of my weekend.

We ran, we walked, we explored. We paused for photo opts and to taste the creamy chocolate of a decadent éclair. We had several close encounters with the local swans and tangled ourselves in some tantalizing trees. We even stumbled into a sweet reminder of home.

Running or walking is really the best way to get to know a place in its purest form. Standing at the top of the hill over the Geneva panorama had an overwhelming power to make me feel insignificantly small. I was once again reminded that I am only one teeny-tiny speck on this earth and that there is so much more out there just waiting to be explored.
