Cappadocia, sans balloons.🎈 . Yup- this is what Cappadocia looks like, raw, not one hot air balloon in the sky. & you know what, it’s still pretty damn cool! . . It’s all too easy to get wrapped up in a fairytale online world of perfect photos and false paradises. To scroll through others’ feeds and form judgements on what you see, compare situations and allow yourself to feel disappointed. Well, these past few weeks have been a huge reminder to myself to not get carried away chasing after the perfect Instaphoto or to judge my experiences based on someone else’s perspective. Hey guys- I have a challenge for you. Make some time this week or weekend to put your phone down 📱(actually better, why not turn it off?) and focus on in-person human connections.👫Engage in a meaningful conversation and fully listen to what others have to say, give one of your loved ones a big ol’ hug and focus on those relationships you have right in front of you. 👀 . Although I’ve come to love and appreciate this digital world we live in (especially all of you‼️), there comes a time when it all gets to be too much. Connecting and communicating with people online is great, but you just can’t replace person-to-person interaction. So, I’ve been trying consciously to disconnect more often. That means no checking my phone during dinner or coffee dates, setting aside time in my day to post Instagram photos/stories as “latergrams” rather than in the moment, treating vacations as REAL time “off-the-clock,” and frankly going MIA from time to time. I'mmmm backkkkkk! 😜 Sorry for going MIA out of nowhere, but boy was it nice to let loose and disconnect for a bit. 🤪 I was in DIRE need of a vacation. BUT now I'm feeling rested, recharged and ready to share some photos from last week's travels.
