So, if I’m being totally honest, this blog post that I’m writing right now was completely unplanned. I was just finishing up my planned post for the week- “Where to Eat in Puerto Natales in Chilean Patagonia” and my computer died. User error on my part…
Anyway, I just got it back up and running and as my luck would have it, none of my edits saved. MAJOR BUMMER. It’s late, I’m tired and I just came down with a cold, so long story short- I don’t have the energy or the “ganas,” as they say in Spanish, to rewrite it right now. That post will have to wait until next week.
For now, because I still wanted to link up with you all, I’m going to share a little bit about my upcoming travel plans. I’ve been a little extra stressed and running around like a chicken with it’s head cut-off, but all for good reason- I’m meeting my family in Mexico this Friday! We’ll be exploring two places I’ve never been before-Mexico City and the little coastal area of Huatulco, AND the icing on the cake- my best friend, and long lost travel buddy, who I haven’t seen since March last minute decided to join us!
Here we are!!
Well, like I said, I’m feeling a bit run down, so I’m going to keep this very short. I’ll be checking in soon with more details about my trip! I’m going to try to be as disconnected as possible (I’m in serious need of a vacation), but if you’re interested in following along, check out my Instagram for live updates- @laurenonlocation!
Have you ever been to Mexico City or Huatulco?! If so, and you have any advice, tips or recommendations, I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!! 😀

Bon voyage! I can’t wait to read all about your trip!
Enjoy your tie in Mexico. #wanderfulwednesday
Lucky you! I’ve never been to Mexico. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy reconnecting with your family and best friend 🙂
Woohoo! Have an awesome trip! It’s on my list to visit as well ,so I can’t wait to get tips from your trip!
Oh so excited for you! Soak up all of those Mexican colours!!
Ahhh so jealous, Mexico City is one of my favorite places in the world!! Definitely devote plenty of time to Chapultepec Park, I loved it there. It has botanical gardens, a castle (?!?) and the anthropology museum is seriously the best museum I’ve ever been to. Also, eat ALL the street tacos!!
Sounds exciting. Never been but look forward to the photos!
Have so much fun on your trip! Can’t wait to hear more about Mexico!!
So sorry that you lost your post – that’s happened to me with posts and papers and it’s always this feeling of shock and dread…! Happy travels to Mexico!
Sounds good! Have a fun trip. Mexico is always a good idea.
Oh my goodness!! You will love Mexico City, keep in mind that is the concrete jungle though but lots of things to do!! You must go to the pyramids of Teotihuacan, take the turibus in Mexico City, enjoy some garrafa ice cream in the Coyoacan neighborhood, visit the Chapultepec castle and the Antropology Museum right in front of the park (I think that is the name, if not ask for the museum where the Aztec Calendar is, it is impressive!!). And for great foodie destinations, visit the famous Roma or Condesa neighborhoods, they are a bit European so I guess you will like it. Also Zocalo, the Angel of Independence and the Soumaya Museum (this last one has a free entrance and it’s modern art, international but with a lot of Latin American and Mexican artists), ohhhh qand before I forget La Casa Azul where Frida Kahlo used to live! haha. If you have any questions, feel free to email me 🙂
How exciting! I’ve always wanted to go to Mexico. Looking forward to hearing what you get up to. I hope the vacation does the trick and you return feeling rested and reinvigorated!
That is so exciting!! Mexico is very high on my list of countries I want to visit (nope, I am NOT jealous at all). Have fun!

Sorry to hear about your computer dying. That sort of thing always happens at a bad time (as if there is ever a good time?). I have not been to Mexico City but I have been to various other towns and cities. I always find lots to see and do in this great country.
Love love Mexico. Loved seeing the Diego Rivera murals in Mexico City.
