Mississippi

Mississippi has ranked as one of the states with most cases of gonorrhea and is ranked as the third among other states with the number of chlamydia and syphilis cases in the United States. According to recent statistics, the rate per hundred thousand population for each STDs is as follows: Chlamydia (740.1), Gonorrhea (326.7), and Syphilis (15.5). Based on the reports shown by Mississippi’s health officials, it is due to the weak health structure the state has and is considered as the main factor why Mississippi has the highest rates of STDs.

Alaska

Alaska has the highest rate of chlamydia in the United States. According to the Surveillance Report published by the CDC in 2018, they have a rate of 832.5 cases per 100,000 people that is about 6,159 cases in total in 2018 alone. Alaska also has the second-highest rate of gonorrhea in the country, with over 303.7 cases per 100,000 people. They also ranked as number one in 2001 as one of the highest states with chlamydia cases. According to the health officials of Alaska, the number went up due to unaware of unprotected sex, people having less access to the best health care services, and limited resources for prevention. Louisiana
