Happy Travel Tuesday Everyone!! Hope everyone’s September has been splendid so far!
This Thursday I’ll be embarking on a new type of journey. One I’ve never done before. And I’m pretty fricken excited!!
ROAD TRIPPPP!!!!
Ok, maybe that’s partly a lie. I’ve taken “road trips” before, but nothing like the one I have in the works. I’ve driven back and forth, up and down the Eastern US coast between New York and Florida many times. I’ve driven from land-locked Madrid to coastal Cadiz. I’ve even driven all over the northern Spanish coast and through the French Riviera.
BUT, this time I’ll be exploring more of my own lovely country. Parts of it that I’ve never been through and have had on my bucket list for a lonnnngggg time.
I just got back from two years abroad in Spain and before taking the next step towards developing my “career centered self” (whatever that means), I figured I’d take full advantage of my freedom!
Here’s what’s coming up:

Of course this is a tentative schedule (you never know what you’ll encounter on the road), but you get the gist.
My parents retired about a year ago and adopted a semi-nomadic lifestyle. We still have our home base on Long Island, but they also acquired the new joy of their life– a Mercedes Sprinter RV.
Yep, that’s right! This baby will be my home for the next few weeks and I’ll be sharing some pretty CLOSE quarters with my mom, my dad and my dog on this trip. What a happy family, huh?!
Seriously though, my parents are being pretty awesome letting me tag along!
Throughout the trip I’ll attempt to make some updates here, but many of the National Parks we are visiting are lacking in service. How dare they. Oh and I’ll be trying to embrace my inner outdoorsy spirit and immerse myself in some nature. If you’d like to follow along, you’ll most likely find me here:

Do you have any exciting travel plans coming up? How do you feel about road trips?

What a trip! Have an amazing time and I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures. Travelling your own country is such a great thing 😀
Thanks Marcella! I’m really excited 😀
That’s such a great plan! I love road trips! We’re planning a road trip for next year’s holidays, all the way from Northern Poland to Gibraltar. But with a tent 😉 Hope you’ll have a great time!
Wow! That’s quite the trip! We have a tent also, but the RV is our main base 😀
I love a good road trip! Your itnerary looks great, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I think it’ll be a fun way to re-connect with your family after being away in Spain these last couple of years.
Definitely going to be some quality family time that’s for sure 😀
Oooh road trip! Have a fantastic time. Those stops sound fantastic. Looking forward to hearing all about it! I think my favourite holiday ever was driving up the coast of WA, Australia in a camper van with the boy. I’m so keen to go on a trip like that again! P.S. if you find out what a career centered self is, please could you let me know?!
Ohhh a road trip in Australia! How lovely! And I’m not quite half way to figuring it out my career centered self… but Ill let ya know if it comes to me 😀
Welcome back to the States! Your road trip sounds amazing… I think it is just the thing to stoke the wanderlust after coming back from abroad. Looking forward to hearing about it 🙂
I think it’s just what I need! After consistently traveling for so long it really freaked me out being grounded in one place! This should help! 😀
That looks like such a great road trip itinerary! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing sites from your trip!
Thanks Ashley! 😀
I love road trips! This sounds like an epic one! The longest journey I’ve made is from Athens, Greece to Brussels, Belgium via Italy. Unfortunately I was pressed for time, so spent 2 days on the road with a few stops! Also this year I drove with friends from LA to SF and it was a dream come true!!
I would love to do a road trip up the California coast!! Definitely on the bucket list!
That is so exciting! I’m dying to rent a camper and drive around the National Parks of the West. I loved the Tetons and Yellowstone so much!
So far I’m loving the Tetons! I’ve never been to the National Parks of the West before so I’m super excited!
Grand Canyon, how exciting!! I’m headed to Lofoten Islands in two weeks and the boyfriend and I want to rent a car to explore the area so it’ll be a little roadtrip 😉 Can’t wait 😉
Nothing better than an Island road trip 😀 Have so much fun!
Have fun!! I’ve always wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion. Now that my mom lives in AZ, hopefully I can make that happen in the next year or so! Can’t wait to see your pics!
Your mom lives so close! Definitely take advantage of that!! I never realized how many things I desperately want to see in the West. Hey ya know, our country is pretty beautiful too! Who knew?
The road trip sounds like fun, how nice of your parents letting you tag along!
They’re angels 😀
Wow, a road trip like that is a dream for me. Have a wonderful time!
Thanks so much Wendy!
This is an awesome trip an itinerary (I am a little envious, ok, I said it). I am sure you guys are going to have a blast. And then, having your own RvVmake things better. My next adventure is going to be to Spain (no driving involved).
Ah I’m jealous as well!!! Have so much fun in SPain!!!! My favorite country 😀
That looks like a great plan! I’ve been really wanting to do a US National Parks road trip, but it will have to wait until I’m back living in the US. For now I’ll just experience it through your photos 🙂

Hope my photos can do them justice! 😀
I was just telling Travis that whenever we move back home I want to travel all over the U.S.! I’m jealous of your trip and can’t wait to follow along. We are doing a mini three day road trip around Tasmania in a few weeks and I’m so excited!
Wow a road trip in Tasmania! That sounds amazing! Can’t wait to read about it and drool over your photos 😀
After I’m done leaving abroad, doing a US road trip is on the top of my list! I’ve always wanted to do something like this!
Living abroad has made me realize I need to see more of my own country!
Hah living in Spain did the same to me! People in Europe kept asking me if I had been certain places or seen certain things and I realized that I knew more about Europe than the US!
Ah man, how awesome! Cannot WAIT to see your posts from this. I love a good road trip, but I’ve not done one longer than a few days since I moved out of home. I’d love to do one around Europe!
A road trip around Europe would definitely be an adventure! I did a mini one last summer through the North of Spain and the French Riviera and it was amazing!
This is awesome! I’ve always wanted to travel around the continental US, (especially now that I’ll be traveling so much in Europe) and I’m so excited to see how this adventure goes! Have so much fun! Also, just got back from Marseilles and kinda wished I rented a car….definitely doing what you did next time I go back to the French Riviera!
